Bigad Khloussi
Music Director
Bigad considers himself privileged to be working in the arts. Throughout the various roles he has held in the field, his greatest joy has come not from the art itself, but from the community that develops around the process. It matters not the caliber of the art, or the musical prowess of the individual – Bigad’s rubric would instead include: thirsty minds, enthusiasm, genuine and respectful collaboration, honesty, and devotion.
He and this cast and crew of Peter and the Starcatcher have had a brief yet fulfilling relationship, and he is lucky to have had any time interacting with this bunch. What a truly lovely, choral sound they produce; what a nurturing and accepting environment they create; and whatpatience and strength they have. [chef’s kiss] Thanks, y’all – sincerely, it’s been a pleasure.
Bigad is a pianist, teacher, and writer at heart. He holds a B.M. in Theory and Composition from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ with a double principle in piano and voice, where he also studied music education. His career has seen him as a teacher (private lessons and groups), music director, pit musician and accompanist, choral conductor, and composer/arranger. He has worked with the very young, young adults, and professionals, and sees no deep distinction between the various settings/companies/individuals he has had the pleasure to work with provided the aim is to bring happiness and good ideas to the world.
